Yesterday came my Newton Running Shoe, The Distance S – Distance S meaning (Stability) because I am a flat-footer so it would be a better start for me to go with stability cushioning first. Oh and the first impression – it is so bright:  will be real useful when going for night runs and the shoes is so light. for many years I never had a stability shoes that is so light.

Btw, there are 2 version for stability series for Newton, “Motion” & “Distance S”

Motion is a trainer and is currently retailing at S$269, while “Distance S” is a racer and currently going for S$239. The prices difference lies in the heel of the shoes. Motion has a thicker heel with a carbon padding which allow better cushioning and longer durability – thus it is very suitable for starters who occasionally will fall back to hell strike after sometime.

In the above picture, you can see that there is no carbon padding for Distance S. Well simply means if I falls back to hell strike my shoe will wear out faster

so why is Newton so expensive? Well simply because of the LAND LEVER LIFT – The four red cushioning available at the forefoot of the shoe. For more info on the technology read here.
